Will Smith – Will 2K
It’s almost new year, less than nine hours for the Pacific Northwest. Let’s jam to a Will Smith track! Haha, I remember the days when I listened to his album Willennium! I’ll be enjoying the New Year with my family, so here are my greetings in advance along with my favorites of the year (after the cut):
Oh, 2010, I have become quite fond of you. We had plenty of great times! I started this blog (and abandoned it, sorry), fulfilled my desire to go to Europe, obtained new and improved glasses (my other ones were in poor condition), discovered a ton load of underrated artists, and found a fun way to stay fit! Unfortunately 2010, you did have your downsides Utada is going on indefinite hiatus, who knows when she’ll be back. AP classes are a killer, a warning would have been great. Sadly, I did not get Photoshop for Christmas as I had hoped, guess I’ll have to figure out how to work Gimp. Heh. It’s been a thrill ride 2010, but now it’s time to welcome your brother, or maybe its your sister, 2011!
I’m happy to announce we will have a new member on the site who will contribute. Her user name is to be announced sometime in January. I’m glad to have another member on the team so the site will be more diverse with its drama, especially since I do not watch a lot of Korean dramas. As I hinted, the newest member will mostly be covering Korean dramas. YAY!~
I’m awaiting the winter quarter for Japanese drama and hopefully I can keep up with one or two and possible do drama recaps if possible. It will probably be likely I’ll do a first impression and then review when the drama has ended. Oh yes, I am most likely going to do recaps of Face Maker, I’ve already started on the first episode. Let’s see how that works out. Maybe one will be out every week if I’m lucky. I would also LOVE to post this drama recap of Baker King‘s episode 27, but I cannot find a streaming site that has the episode. I already have the recap all written and polished since like… November. Not to mention I was able to get three screen caps before my laptop and charger decided to pull the whole “Let’s-burn-the-circuit” incident. Guess I will have to go snooping around for episode 27 and have the recap up by the end of January – hopefully.
Just a side note, there’s not a lot of drama favorites since I didn’t watch a ton load that 2010 had to offer…. sorry! Let’s review my favorites of the year: Read the rest of this entry ?
The upcoming movie, Byakuyako, has revealed its official poster today, with their stars Horikita Maki and Kora Kengo. The slogan reads, “The thing I killed next was my heart”. In the movie, Horikita Maki will play an evil girl who plunges people around her into misfortune just to make herself happy. For these misfortunes, she will receive the help of her childhood friend, played by Kora Kengo.
Some may know of the title since the movie is based on a popular novel written by Higashino Keigo. The book has also been adapted to a stage performance (2005), and drama series (2006) starring Yamada Takayuki and Ayase Haruka. There also was a movie released last year in Korea which was also an adaptation of the novel, starring Han Suk Kyu and Son Yeh Jin, called White Night.
Byakuyako will be released in theaters on January 29, 2011.

Description: Hotaru (Haruka Ayase) works for a famous interior design company. It’s a glamorous job but Hotaru’s private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn’t working she’s mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She’s not interested in men. In fact, she isn’t interested in anything. “I’d rather lay around than fool around,” is her motto. Her landlord is a bar owner, and one day his son, who has just separated from his wife, comes to inspect the rental property, not knowing that someone is living there. He is shocked at the mess, but not as shocked as Hotaru. He turns out to be her boss, Takano (Fujiki Naohito). – Japan Times Online
As you can see, the site has gone through a name change! We are no longer Spill the drama beans (SDB) but Lost In Paradise (LIP). Spill the drama beans was a temporarily name until I could think of a new one. I finally started planning on one last week. Lost in Paradise is named after a song by a Korean band, (but now its just the lead singer left) Rumble Fish, called Lost In Paradise from their album One Sweet Day.
School is almost in session for me which means cutting back on dramas. GASP! I’m trying to finish off Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Hotaru no Hikari by next Wednesday. After I finish those I can do drama reviews on them, hopefully the game plan goes as I want it. Unless I get stacks of homework on the first week of school, that would be a bummer.
As for my forthcoming reviews/recapping, I’m still planning on recapping the last 5 episodes of the drama. Also, with Baker King having the possibility of going on hiatus I may just recap episode 16 and up. That’s if I have the time, of course! Also, my first impression of the Japanese drama, BOSS, will be up as soon as I can get some screencaps from episode 1. Oh, the best way to get information on my progress is checking out the Forthcoming Reviews page.
School is almost in session, which means cutting back and finishing off dramas. Sigh! I know I have to bust my chops finishing my summer homework to have the sweet opportunity of watching the finished airing dramas. I’ll be reviewing dramas slowly, probably only watching two at a time, one Japanese and one Korean. Hopefully, I can find room in my schedule! Read the rest of this entry ?
On Ayase Haruka‘s new commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) which started airing yesterday in Japan. The commericial is a campaign to celebrate Colonel Sanders birthday on September 9th, so Haruka dresses as “Colonel-ojisan”. Check out the cute CM below!
August has arrived and I told Spoofnick we should show our readers what dramas we are currently (or going to be) watching. I will be blue while Spoofnick is green. If I have new post regarding any of the drama below, such as drama recaps or first impressions, they’ll be added. We’ll try to keep this drama list going every month. Hopefully this helps if you’re looking for any new or upcoming dramas to watch! Read the rest of this entry ?
01/15/12 - It's been almost five months since I last been on. I just got out of the drama phase. I most likely won't be doing any reviews unless I do get back into my phase which isn't anytime soon. I'm busy with classes and my laptop charger is not working so I have to use my friend's computer! Hope this site is good for drama lovers looking for reviews and underrated artists insight! :)
