The Short Reviews

July 3, 2011

This post focuses on ten short reviews of Japanese dramas that I have watched including the popular Hana Yori Dango and 1 Litre of Tears. I had put this particular piece on its own page, but I feel that it has been in the back burner. I mean, I’ve even forgotten about it until I happened to find it. So, here it is! These set of reviews are not as profound as my reviews of other dramas, however, I have rated them. 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest which means utterly awesomeness! Be aware that these were written when I first started my blog and I tried my best to remember the drama. I also did add a few more details to the ones that didn’t have so much detail! So… I guess you can say this is kind of my recycled one year gift for all my readers! Haha!

1 Litre of Tears / 1リットルの涙: This is definitely a heartbreaking drama. Once I finished watching this I started seeing life in a whole different perspective. I loved the cast and the soundtrack. Just about everything was spot on for me, though I wish Aya’s romantic interest was a bit more focused on.  I highly recommend this drama, this is a tearjerker so bring out the tissues! 4.5/5 Read the rest of this entry ?

Matsumoto Jun interviews Angelina Jolie

August 7, 2010

Matsumoto Jun interviewed Angelina Jolie (who visit Japan to promote “Salt”) for this week’s episode of Arashi ni Shiyagare. First, Jun meets a famous translator, Toda Natsuko, and she teaches him how to interview Hollywood stars. The interview starts at the 6 minute mark and MatsuJun speaks little English (I was hoping for more!). My Japanese is limited to basic and random phrases, so for those curious about the interview hopefully the Arashi community at LiveJournal will post English subtitles! Click more for the video! First Impression: Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku

July 31, 2010

YUI – Please Stay With Me

I turned to Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku (trans: Summer Romance Shines in Rainbow Color), or its shorter name Natsu Niji (trans: Summer Rainbow), when I was searching for Unuburo Deka/Keiji, which is surprising hard to find in English subtitles. Even though I like Matsumoto Jun (from boy band Arashi, Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango 1 and 2. Seen on left), this drama isn’t on my watch list this season; I only have four shows that are on my list. The second lead is Takeuchi Yuko (Pride, Bara no nai Hanaya. Seen on right) and I’ve seen her around, but never actually seen her perform. The first episode aired July 19, 2010 and caught a rating of 15.7.

EDIT (8/14): Screen shots are in better quality and added insert song.
